POLICE OUT IN FORCE AHEAD OF BRIGG HORSE FAIR 2019

By our standards there was a considerable police presence in the town last night (Saturday, August 3) in the run up to Brigg Horse Fair 2019 which takes place tomorrow (Monday).
Police were on patrol in the town centre and some pubs had security staff posted at their entrances.
Several horses were tethered close to licensed premises, including the Woolpack and Wetherspoon's White Horse.
There were busy scenes outside some pubs as we crossed the town centre to visit the Yarborough Hunt around 9pm and returned around 10.30pm towards the White Horse and the Britannia Inn.
We saw nothing on the streets requiring the police to step in.
A member of the public emailed us this picture late last night showing the scene outside the Woolpack after dark.
