BRIGG CHARITY FUNDRAISERS ENDED UP MUDDIED TO THE EYEBALLS BUT IT WAS WORTH IT
More than £600 was raised in a single day by Brigg charity fundraisers at the weekend, with more to be come as folk make further contributions.
Andrew "Sass" Markham and Lesley Whitehand undertook a marathon cycle ride for Pancreatic Cancer Action.
Andrew told Brigg Blog: "Here is a photo of Lesley Georgina (Lesley's niece) and I before we set off from Siddal Rugby Club in Halifax on Saturday.
"We finished the 60km ride at 5pm that evening - muddied to the eyeballs thanks to a very rainy day but very happy with the response and the money we collected en route.
"People in the photo, L to R, myself, Lesley, Phil Watson (representing Siddal RFC), Tina and Donald Campbell (who were our support crew) and Georgina.
"We will be having an awareness day on Saturday at Brigg farmers' market so if people would still like to donate, please see Lesley, Zoe Hall or myself then."
N.F. adds: We saw Andrew in Brigg Market Place yesterday afternoon and chipped into the collection pot. Donald and Tina Campbell are both Brigg Town Councillors and he is the current Deputy Town Mayor.
