SPECIAL REPORT AND PICTURES BY KEN HARRISON, BRIGG MATTERS MAGAZINE
Brigg's St John's Church curate was ordained as a priest at an Ordination Service at Lincoln Cathedral on Saturday evening, 1st July.
The Rev Trudy Hobson, once an RAF bands-person, was ordained by the Bishop of Lincoln, Christopher Lowson, during a celebration of ordinands.
The Rev Trudy was supported by her incumbent, Father Owain, of St John's, as well as her mother, father and sister, together with numerous members of Brigg's Anglican congregation who attended the special service.
The Rev David Eames, from Scawby, who was also a curate at St John's, attended the service.
The Rev Hobson, now a priest serving Brigg, Wrawby & Cadney cum Howsham, was one of ten ordinands ordained by the bishop from the Diocese of Lincoln.
During the ceremony, the bishop laid hands on the newly ordained priests and anointed them with chrism.
The bishop then presented each with a chalice and paten, from the parish in which they serve, and from which they were used in their first Eucharist within the cathedral.
Rev Trudy's first Brigg-based communion, as a priest was at St John's on Sunday, 2nd July.
