WE REMAIN COMMITTED TO LINCOLNSHIRE DEVOLUTION, BRIGG RESIDENTS TOLD

FROM KIRSTY WESTFIELD, NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL

North and North East Lincolnshire Council have confirmed their commitment to working together to bring greater powers and money to the area through the devolution agenda.
Councils across greater Lincolnshire area have been working on the proposals and undertook an extensive consultation recently to ascertain people’s views.
The move would bring an extra £450m to the area in the next 30 years and would mean having a directly elected Mayor.
In a joint statement, Baroness Coun  Liz Redfern, Leader, North Lincolnshire Council (pictured) and Coun Ray Oxby, Leader of North East Lincolnshire Council, said: “There’s a clear will to make devolution happen. We don’t want to miss out on this vital opportunity to transform the area for the better, creating essential jobs and business opportunities. We have got this far, and we will continue to work with our partners to help secure the best deal possible. We are jointly confirming our firm commitment to secure strong devolution and extra money for Greater Lincolnshire.”
