THE FAMOUS & INFAMOUS OF LINCOLNSHIRE IN THE ARCHIVES

FROM LINCOLNSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

Find out more about Lincolnshire's famous and infamous residents at Fame! – a free two-day exhibition at the Lincolnshire Archives, 21-22 October.
Fascinating treasures connected with celebrated and famous Lincolnshire people will be on display for two days.
The exhibition features Lincolnshire natives and people with Lincolnshire connections between the 12th century and the present day, including Isaac Newton, Charles Dickens, Alfred Lord Tennyson, Laurel and Hardy and many others.
James Stevenson, archivist, said: "The Archives is full of fascinating documents and Fame! is a chance for people to see some of the pieces we hold about the famous lives and stories of Lincolnshire. For example, we'll be exhibiting letters from Spilsby's famous explorer Sir John Franklin, and an original programme from a piano concert given by the young Margaret Thatcher, many years before her Prime Ministership.
"We'll be on hand to answer your questions and help you learn more about the people that have had influence over our great county."
The free exhibition is at Lincolnshire Archives on St Rumbold Street, just off Broadgate in Lincoln, 21-22 October, 10am-3pm both days. Team members will be on hand to chat to visitors.
