BRIGG CARE HOME CELEBRATING 50TH BIRTHDAY: POP ALONG AND ENJOY THE EVENT

An event is being held in Brigg tomorrow (Monday, May 9), from 2.30pm, to mark the 50th anniversary of what is now called The Birches care home, on Grammar School Road (near the Vale Academy's former Westmoor complex).
Kerri Walker, the activities co-ordinator, tells us: "Weather permitting we will be having a party, with a 60s entertainer, to celebrate 50 years of Birch House."
There will be a special cake, tombola and  raffle.
"Anybody is welcome to pop in but we would especially love to invite those with learning disabilities," Kerri stays.
Hica took over the care of the home in 1999; previously it was operated by social services.
The building and some residents have been there for 50 years.!
