It was arranged in the Market Place by the Gainsborough Rail and Bus Group (GRaB).
Rail campaigning group The Friends of the Brigg & Lincoln Lines tell us that between 10.30am and 1pm on Thursday more than 150 people either took a Brigg Line Guide to services, signed the Gainsborough Rail and Bus Group's petition for a Brigg Line Community Rail Partnership, or came to "register feedback."
A large number of people who took the Brigg Line Guide were either unaware Brigg has a railway station, didn't know where it is or where the trains go to/come from.
Of those who did know about trains serving Brigg on Saturdays, many were delighted about the proposed re-development of the station area, seen in a recent article in the Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph, but were also aware of "fly-tipping issues."
A number of people asked: "Can we get from Brigg to Lincoln by train?" They were told 'Yes' - by using the 0922 service from Brigg on a Saturday (nearside platform), changing at Barnetby, to get into the county capital at 1014. The return train to use is the 1452 from Lincoln, arriving in Brigg at 1553, again having changed at Barnetby.
Finally, a number of senior citizens seen on Thursday "sadly did not know that if they have a North Lincolnshire Council bus pass they can get a discount when travelling on the Brigg line to Kirton in Lindsey, Gainsborough, Barnetby, Habrough, Grimsby, and Cleethorpes."
Pick up your copy of the new Brigg Line Guide to local train services from Brigg Tourist Information Centre within the Buttercross, Market Place.

Our picture shows an TP Express train at Brigg station a few years ago, when the old footbridge was still there. The Brigg line's Saturdays-only service is handled by units of a different type.
