ADD SEASIDE OUTINGS FROM BRIGG TO YOUR BUCKET (AND SPADE) LIST
Please consider adding Brigg to Cleethorpes Saturday seaside excursions to your bucket (and spade) list in support of our local line's passenger train service - once things get back to normal.
Sadly, Coronavirus lockdown has not helped our local line get back on track.
Things looked promising many weeks ago with the welcome replacement of old 'rail bus' Pacer units by more modern stock being announced.
However, staffing shortages during the crisis have seen Brigg's Saturdays-only passenger trains suspended.
Reports reached us that driver training was to be undertaken recently, but then we were informed this had been postponed.
Things will hopefully return to normal by late June, July and August - making possible summer day trips to and from Cleethorpes by train.
The timetable allows a full day out to be enjoyed at the east coast resort; its terminus station is pictured above in glorious summer weather.
People of all ages have made Saturday outings from Brigg in recent years, resulting in some positive feedback.
We'll keep you posted!
