A CYCLE OF SOCIAL DISTANCING IN BRIGG WILL BE WELCOME

Some cyclists out and about in Brigg for  permitted exercise or shopping purposes are failing to comply with the required social distancing during the Coronavirus emergency.
They are riding on paths, contrary to the highway code, and passing within two metres of pedestrians.
The 'Cyclists dismount through the Market Place' signs at the entrances to the town centre's pedestrian area are also being ignored by many riders, particularly at weekends.
Sadly, these abuses seem to have increased since lockdown was introduced.
Where designated cycle ways permit riders to share paths with those on foot, such as Wrawby Road, there's a need for some commonsense on both sides to ensure people don't come into close contact. Someone just needs to step to one side.
