BRIGG TOWN FOOTBALLERS ATTRACT ANOTHER DECENT-SIZED CROWD
Brigg Town Football Club attracted another good-sized crowd but lost 4-1 at home to Armthorpe Welfare in ToolStation Northern Counties East Division One yesterday (Saturday, November 23).
An attendance of 145 supported this encounter at the EC Surfacing Stadium (The Hawthorns).
Only one other match in the division was completed yesterday - seven others being postponed because of soggy conditions.
Armthorpe took the lead but Jake Reed levelled for Brigg after 31 minutes. However, the visitors were soon back in front and went on to add two further goals in the second half.
Brigg are fifth from bottom (16th) in the standings after 16 league fixtures.
In EC Surfacing Ltd Scunthorpe & District League Division Two, the local derby at Brigg Recreation Ground between Briggensians and Barnetby United Reserves finished 2-2.
Ben Lingard and Paul Neal netted for the Brigg side, with Ryan Frankish and Amadou Jarra replying.
Cameron Hill scored a hat-trick for Barnetby United's first team in their 3-1 victory at Epworth Town Colts Blues in a Carousel Hospital Cup quarter-final.
