The family days out – when all accompanied under 18s are admitted free of charge – are held over four months, on 19th February, 12th March, 9rd April and 21st May.
All three enclosures at the racecourse – County, Tattersalls and Lawn – will be open, offering visitors a choice of where to watch the races and enjoy refreshments. Adult tickets start at £7.20 when bought in advance.
At the four Super Sunday fixtures, as well as at 12 of the other 18 fixtures this year, children under 12 years receive a free two-course meal in the Brocklesby Suite restaurant with adult reservations booked in advance.
Horse racing is Britain’s second most popular spectator sport after football, and Lincolnshire’s only racecourse welcomed more than 75,000 visitors last year, many of them for the most popular meetings at weekends.
Nadia Powell, General Manager, Market Rasen Racecourse, said: “After two midweek meetings so far in 2017, the action steps up a notch with our opening ‘Super Sunday’ fixture of the year when we offer families great value-for-money entertainment and an exciting day out with the chance to enjoy a Sunday roast. The jump racing season is building to an exciting climax with the Cheltenham Festival and the Randox Health Grand National Festival, and visitors to Market Rasen this Sunday will be able to see some of the jockeys and trainers who will be grabbing the sporting headlines in the weeks ahead.”
Racing begins at 2pm, with gates open from midday. The feature contests on a card headline sponsored by 32Red are the North Lincs Components & Bass Tyre Services Handicap Hurdle and the 32Red.com Novices’ Chase.
