START DATE SUGGESTED FOR NEW TOWN HOUSES, FLATS & SHOPS IN BRIGG

A scheme to build new homes and shops in Brigg town centre has moved closer to getting under way.
Back in 2012 an application was made to develop land behind Nos 5 & 6 Market Place - occupied by the Smith Parkinson garage for many years, later turned into Grimley Smith's offices and currently occupied by Brown & Co.
North Lincolnshire Council subsequently granted permission for demolition of a metal clad shop, a store and a retail stall and for the erection of a mixed use development comprising eight town houses, six flats and three shops.
The retail stall was removed a few months ago and a further  application  submitted late last year in which Market Court Developments Ltd, of 6 Market Place, sought to  vary a condition relating to noise measurement/control contained in the original planning  permission.
North Lincolnshire Council has now agreed to that request.
A planning report said the council's Environmental Health Team had confirmed "a drafting error with regard to this condition and the noise levels to be achieved on external balconies."
Therefore, the Environmental Health Team has raised no objection to the applicant's request to amend the condition.
In the planning conditions, North Lincolnshire Council specifies that the development must begin before July 29, 2018.
