GO-AHEAD TO ATTRACT MORE TOURISTS TO HOLIDAY IN THE BRIGG AREA

Another scheme to develop tourism and encourage holiday visits to the Brigg area has been approved.
Following on from our recent report about the Carr Island Holiday Lodge Resort welcoming booking inquiries at the marina beside the Old River Ancholme near Mill Lane in Brigg SEE THIS LINK TO THE STAYCATION LODGES WEBSITE we can report that another  scheme from a different source has gained the go-ahead.
Planning permission to make an extension to, and change of use of, part of an existing garage to form an ancillary residential annexe and to use part of the existing dwelling for serviced holiday accommodation has been granted for Treetops Cottages, on Station Road, Grasby.
A West Lindsey District Council planning officer's report said: "The  applicants  have  put  forward  a  case in  support  of  the  proposal  to  demonstrate  that  the proposal  will  support  tourism  in  the  local economy by way of providing three/four star holiday accommodation.
"They are  registered  on the  Enjoy England  Website  and  have  received  awards  for the  standard  of  accommodation that they provide.
"The  business  also  offers an  indoor  pool  and  a  number  of  spa  treatments  and  services  to  complement the holiday accommodation service they offer.
"As a result the business has a knock on effect in that it provides nearby businesses including the local Public House with additional business  as the  public  house does not provide  accommodation.

"The supporting statement advises that the applicants and the owner of the public house enjoy a good mutual business relationship whereby they  send  business  customers  to  each  other  based  on  the  customers’ requirements and needs."
The application was submitted by Gill  and Mrs Brian Hartley, of that address.
