DRINKING OUTDOORS AN OPTION FOR BRIGG PUB CUSTOMERS

Tables and chairs outside the Woolpack pub in Brigg for customers to use - a pavement licence having now been granted by North Lincolnshire Council (September 2020)

The Woolpack, in Brigg Market Place, wasted no time after being granted a pavement licence to site tables, chairs and parasols outside its frontage - for use by customers.
We took this picture at 8.30pm on Saturday (September 5) only a few days after North Lincolnshire Council had issued the permit.
Although the temporary street furniture can be used in the evenings under the conditions of the licence, it's seeing more use during daylight hours.
With some fine sunny weather forecast later this week, the new seating might well find many takers.
When Brigg Town Council discussed this licensing application, an interesting point was made; some people might prefer to drink in the open air during the Coronavirus emergency period.
Despite pubs reopening from early July, the emergency continues and some people are still uneasy about returning to licensed premises. So using tables and chairs like these, or visiting the outdoor beer gardens offered by various Brigg pubs, permits a pint or two to be enjoyed al fresco.

Perhaps this might entice a few more people to support our bars.
