BRIGG CONSERVATION AREA TREE-FELLING APPROVED

A tall tree within the Brigg Conservation Area can be removed, North Lincolnshire Council has decided.
Tree felling does not normally require local authority approval, but it is a requirement within the protected zone which covers our town centre and some adjoining streets.
Notice of intention to fell a pine tree at Point House, on Bigby Road, was therefore submitted to the council.
Having considered a specialist report accompanying the application which indicated the tree was damaging nearby brickwork, the unitary authority gave consent for the work to be carried out.
Professional arborists recommend "full removal of the tree and treatment of the stump to prevent further damage and failure to the wall and property surrounding."
Brigg Town Council was consulted and supported the application.
Point House is adjacent to the junction where Bigby Road meets Albert Street.
