BRIGG OFFERS SUPPORT FOR NATIONAL FISH N CHIP DAY 2020

National Fish n Chip Day 2020 is being celebrated across the UK today (Friday, September 4) offering Brigg people the chance to enjoy 'one of each' or other fish dishes of choice.
The town has Scalinis, in the Market Place, and The Hungry Fisherman, on Coney Court, providing sit-down restaurant facilities as well as takeaways. There's also The Garden (takeaway only) on Grammar School Road, near the junction with Preston Drive.
Locals can also visit a range of other Brigg eateries, including some pubs, and select a fish dish from the menu.
Brigg Blog has been contacted by Foodhub - the national takeaway delivery app.
It is offering 10% off fish and chip orders at designated takeaways, so people can enjoy the classic British dish "for a fraction of the price."

Foodhub has sought to answer an interesting question about the preferred name for chips served in a bread roll.
Various terms find favour across Britain, but chip butty has been declared the winner - this being prevalant in our district, of course.
Foodhub surveyed 2,000 takeaway fans in August, and 58% opted for this term - four times more than any other option.
The second most popular title was chip roll, followed by chip sandwich, chip bap, chip barm and chip cob.
Foodhub.co.uk says Britain is still very much in love with the classic fish & chips dinner, although there are differences in how Brits like to consume them.
Nationally, 33% say they prefer to eat fish and chips straight from the wrapping paper, while 35% like to put them on a plate.
The survey shows that 44% eat fish & chips with a traditional knife and fork, though almost one in five opt for the iconic chippy-style wooden fork.
A medium-sized, lightly battered cod fillet with a medium-sized portion of chunky chips is overwhelmingly the nation’s favourite.
