ADDITIONAL FREEMEN OF BRIGG TO BE APPOINTED

Brigg is set to create some new Freemen of the town - a prestigious honour.
The only current Freeman is Tom Glossop, pictured (centre) when he was installed in 2011 and received an inscribed scroll.
The former Brigg youth leader, who still lives in the town, served as a local councillor for 32 years until his retirement.
Councils across the UK can honour community-minded people who have demonstrated extensive and eminent service or who have made a significant contribution to the well-being of its residents.
At Brigg Town Council's next  meeting, the final item on the agenda will involve agreeing the citations, awards and presentations to the "previously agreed additional Freemen of Brigg".
Their identities have yet to be announced.
The Town Council will meet in The Lounge at the Angel Suite on Monday, July 22, starting at 7.15pm. This meeting is open to interested members of the public, but if you are going please note the venue is in the basement (down the stairs - lift available).
