BRIGG NURSERY LOOKING TO MOVE TO NEW SITE WITHIN THE TOWN

A well-known pre-school and children's day nursery  in Brigg is looking to relocate.
There are plans to knock down the existing building with the intention of  new housing occupying the site at some point in the future.
North Lincolnshire Council is now considering an outline application for residential development, including demolition of the existing building, "with all matters reserved for subsequent approval."

This application relates to the site on Glebe Road, pictured below, currently occupied by the Little Angels Nursery and Kids' Club.

A statement sent to council planners says the outline application is only to confirm that, in principle, some form of residential development would be acceptable.
"If outline permission is granted, the site would be sold and it would be up to the new owner to submit a reserved matters or full application for the detailed scheme they wish to pursue," the statement explains.
The business has outgrown its current premises.
"In order to meet the demand for places and to provide better quality child care facilities, with improved access, parking and less sensitive neighbouring uses, the business is relocating to an alternative site elsewhere within the town," the statement adds.
There is no designated off-street parking within the site and children are dropped off and collected throughout the day.
So replacing the nursery business with a residential use "is likely to reduce noise from, and movements to and from, the site to the benefit of neighbouring residents."
