NEW HOUSE PLANNED NEAR DISTINCTIVE BRIGG PROPERTY

Plans have been lodged to build a new house near one of the most distinctive properties in Brigg.
An application has been made to North Lincolnshire Council for permission to construct a detached two-storey dwelling - set well back from the road - on land adjacent to Cemetery Lodge, 30 Wrawby Road.
The Victorian-era Lodge is sited near the entrance to the cemetery, off the A18.
A statement submitted with the application says: "The proposed dwelling design has considered existing characteristics of the adjacent properties in the area, particularly 32-38 Wrawby Road. All materials will be in keeping these properties which will allow the new dwelling to blend in."

It adds: "There are a small number of mature trees within the site, one of which is in close proximity to the proposed vehicular access point. These trees are in good condition and are to be retained. Adequate protection of the trees will be provided during the construction phase."
At its latest meeting, Brigg Town Council's Planning & Environment Committee decided to object to the proposal, having concerns about the dormer level, access to/entrance from the site and the replacement of a hedge with fencing.
North Lincolnshire Council planners will decide whether to grant permission.

The proposed site for the dwelling is well back from Wrawby Road. The application says the proposed dwelling is to be sited 2m back from the face of 32 Wrawby Road. The property will not have any windows on the east elevation overlooking the nearby house.
