BRIGG PUB REOPENS AFTER WET END TO 'DRY' JANUARY

A touch of humour greeted the reopening of a Brigg town centre pub.
The Nelthorpe Arms (Scanlon's) had to close for several days following ground floor flooding that resulted from a water main leak on nearby Bridge Street
The pub reopened  yesterday (Friday, February 2), having posting a notice headed We're Drying Out.
This gave details of  drink offers, free food 'tasters' and concluded: "Unlimited supply of free tap water!"
The pub also noted: "The end of 'dry' January turned out very wet for us."
Brigg Blog saw workmen working hard to stem the leak outside the Nelthorpe Arms last Saturday night, took a picture and alerted the Scunthorpe Telegraph, which ran a couple of stories last weekend.
Anglian Water responded promptly to the problem, repairs soon being completed.
