BRIGG REC: A FEW POINTERS

Brigg Blog suggests North Lincolnshire Council is being far too modest about providing the town with the super new Recreation Ground, complete with all-weather courts, 'Blue Astro' floodlit pitch and impressive changing room block.
One of the few things not replaced as part of the extensive revamp was the functional but hardly striking Recreation Ground sign near the approach road.
We are posting the  picture above to see whether Brigg Blog followers agree with us that something larger and more eye-catching is called for.
In addition (see picture below) there's more urgent need for a directional sign to be displayed on this post so visiting sports teams know when to turn off the A18 on Wrawby Road.
After spending well over £2 million on the Rec, a bit more on new signs to mark the achievement does not seem out of place, in our opinion.
Go carefully if you are driving down to the Rec or The Hawthorns and watch out for the speed retarders - for which suitable signage is already in place (pictured below).
The revamped Rec was officially opened by Brigg & Goole MP Andrew Percy in March 2017 with the Mayors of Brigg and North Lincolnshire in attendance.

A directional sign on this post would help visitors know when to turn off the A18 for the Recreation Ground.

Talking about signs, Nige....I will be proposing to BTC that they support the notion of extra signage about the town to highlight the need to show the location of sporting and recreational facilities in the neighbourhood....ie rowing club, canoe club, bowling club, football ground, carers' centre, the Rec.,
The Riverside cycle track....etc
Use the existing lampposts for finger signs to emphasise the town is not just a centre of shops and NLC amenities...
Ps How many people know where the bowling club is?
