SIGNIFICANT RISE IN BRIGG CRIME


There has been a significant increase in month-on-month crime in Brigg, latest figures show.
Statistics made public through www.police.uk reveal that 66 crimes took place within a one-mile radius of the town centre during August 2017.
The total reported during July was 50.
The figures have been categorised by the police as follows:

  • Anti-social behaviour 8
  • Bicycle theft 2
  • Burglary 14
  • Criminal damage and arson 4
  • Drugs 1
  • Other crime 0
  • Other theft 3
  • Possession of weapons 0
  • Public order 4
  • Robbery 0
  • Shoplifting 4
  • Theft from the person     0
  • Vehicle crime 15
  • Violence and sexual offences     11
By way of comparison, there were 47 crimes reported during August 2016 and 43 in August 2015.
