BRIGG TOWN FC SECURE GOOD AWAY POINT & BARNETBY PLAYER HITS HAT-TRICK
Brigg Town Football Club secured a good away point yesterday (Saturday, October 21) before a crowd of 80 spectators.
The Zebras drew 1-1 on their visit to Glasshoughton Welfare, with Brigg's Ryan Thompson scoring a penalty just a minute from full-time to cancel out the home side's 50th minute goal.
Glasshoughton is near Castleford, in Yorkshire.
Brigg remain at the foot of the Toolstation Northern Counties East First Division, having taken eight points from 17 games.
In the EC Surfacing Ltd Scunthorpe & District Football League there was a good home win for Barnetby United yesterday.
They beat New Holland Villa 5-0 in the second round of the EC Surfacing Ltd Challenge Cup.
Tom Wilson hit a hat-trick and there were further goals from Daniel Ricketts and William Dawson.
However, Brigg side Briggensians were beaten 3-0 on their visit to The Butchers Arms in the same competition.
