LONG-DISTANCE RAIL TRAVELLER USES ICONIC BRIGG LINE

In his Friends of the Brigg Line Blog report for services which operated on Saturday, April 22, Paul Johnson notes  people from outside our area taking the early train to visit the monthly farmers' market, organised by North Lincolnshire Council.
There was also one traveller aboard who had read about the Brigg line online and ventured north from Stevenage, in Hertfordshire.
Read Paul's detailed report in full through this link...
The pictures used here were taken by David Barrett at the Cadney Road railway bridge over the Old River Ancholme. Our thanks to the photographer and to Paul Johnson for forwarding the images.
Remember that trains will be running along the iconic Brigg line this Saturday, April 29.
There are three in each direction to Cleethorpes and Sheffield. You can also take a train from Brigg station to Barnetby and then change trains for Lincoln to enjoy some hours in the county capital.
