In a midweek match at Barnetby's Silver Street ground, the villagers drew 1-1 with opponents who have won 13 of their 15 league fixtures, with one game to go.
It proved to be an entertaining encounter.
Josh Isaac's goal gave Barnetby the lead, but the champions hit back to maintain their unbeaten league record.
Barnetby Reserves finished the season in fourth place with 26 points from 16 matches.
Briggensians - based at Sir John Nelthorpe School, Brigg - came fifth with 24 points.
Above them were Shape Changers, AFC Blades and AFC Queensway.
Below Barnetby Reserves and Briggensians came Crosby Colts Reserves, Scotter Reserves, Epworth Blues and wooden-spoonists Santon.
We can recall turning out for the Brigg Amateurs A-team in the 1980s against Santon, in the bottom division of the Scunthorpe Saturday League. So you have to admire the way they have kept going all these years.
