BRIGG AHEAD OF THE GAME IN SELLING TICKETS

Take your hat off to Brigg for being ahead of the game when it comes to advance publicity.
In the town centre, we spied a notice about a forthcoming fashion show, called Glitz and Glamour - Getting Ready for a Party.
Then we noticed this presentation by costume historian Meredith Towne is not until Friday, October 27.
The event will be at Broughton Village Hall (refreshments from 7.15pm, presentation at 8pm).
Admission costs £10 for Women's Institute members and £13 for non-members.
You can book tickets and obtain further details from the Women's Institute Federation Office at 10 Queen Street, Brigg. Call 01652 653641 or email lincshumbfwi@gmail.com
"An evening not to be missed, so book early," say the organisers.
And that explains why posters are already publicising the event.

6 months in the fashion industry is a long term, Nige.
We could be wearing flares and kipper ties by October.

....at my age, it could also be drainpipes, crepe soles, string ties, winkle-pickers, or trilbys...with the odd punk safety pin through my nostril..
