TWO MEN AND A BOAT IN BRIGG

Ken Harrison has kindly supplied this recently taken picture showing a pleasure boat moored on the Old River Ancholme, near the White Hart pub.
Last night (Saturday), around 8pm, we were walking over the bridge and spotted two men climbing down the steps from the beer garden into a boat - smaller than the one seen here.
It reminded us of the Jerome K. Jerome story about three men and a boat, but his were on the Thames, not the Ancholme.
It's a generally held view that the river is an under-utilised Brigg asset so it's good to see craft mooring up at this town centre location.

Nige...agree...I know that one can't compare Brigg with Cambridge...but the River Cam is through the city is very much like the Ancholme....the former teems with punts and varsity rowing boats/sculls...the other with the occasional canoe and the ARC boat...the occasional appearance makes it so exciting, we tend to forget the vast time when nowt happens..
