BARTON FAIL TO DO BRIGG TOWN A FAVOUR

Brigg Town Cricket Club - without a game yesterday in division four of the Lincolnshire County Cricket League - are now further behind leaders Marshalls (Gainsborough).
Yesterday, Brigg were hoping that Barton 2nds could do them a big favour by beating Marshalls.
But Barton decided to bat first, were shot out for a low score and Marshalls gained the maximum 20 points on offer with a nine-wicket win.
Marshalls now have 112 points from eight games, while Brigg have 88 points from six matches.
An outright win (dismissing your opponents and scoring more runs) is worth 20 points in the Lincs League.
The top two teams in division four are generally promoted, though on occasions it has been three.
