FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT AGAINST LITTER ON BRIGG STREETS

A litter bin near Brigg town centre needs replacing.
The top part of the bin, near The Monument, remains but the business end is no longer there.
We wonder whether it has been vandalised. Or perhaps North Lincolnshire Council has taken away the damaged section with a view to making repairs.
Whichever is the case, it is necessary to get this bin back in working order, as part of the fight again litter on our streets.
We spotted the damaged bin last night as we walked home along Bigby Street.
The bin in question is a lamp-post mounted one, close to the car sales business.
We had just purchased a carton of chips from the pizza place on the corner of Bigby Street and Princes Street and were eating them, with the fork provided, as we walked home.
Once we got home, the tray and fork went straight into the green household bin.
But through the provision of litter bins, the powers that be have to cater - pardon the pun! - for people who cannot, or will not, take their takeaway trash home with them for disposal.
This being Sunday, here endeth the lesson (or sermon)!
