TAKE A TRAIN FROM BRIGG TO BOOK LAUNCH IN POPULAR PUB

People from the Brigg area who are using the town's Saturday-only passenger train service this weekend have an opportunity to attend the launch of a book that features Barnetby.
On Saturday, October 12 author Paul King will be launching Part 2 of his trilogy The Railways Of North East Lincolnshire.
He will be holding a signing session from 3pm for interested members of the public at the No.1 Pub on Cleethorpes railway station.
In similar format to Part 1, The Engine Sheds and Their Allocations, this 112-page book covers all railways stations between Willoughby and Barnetby. The so-called Mablethorpe loop and the light railways around Immingham are also covered, as well as the Barton branch.
Paul says: "This is essentially a pictorial book, with more than 270 photographs, but brief details are also provided and several maps and plans are included. Where known, details are also included about little-known stations and halts and some that were planned but never built.
"Part 2 of my 3-part series covering the railways of the north eastern part of Lincolnshire will be available from me from the 14th October and on sale publicly from 26th October at Caistor Model Railway Show."
The cost is £18.95, plus £2.95 postage.
With Christmas coming up, Brigg Blog suggests this book will make a suitable gift for a family member or friends who takes an interest in railway history.

Trains to Cleethorpes leave Brigg at 9.20am and 1.20pm on Saturday.  A Brigg-Cleethorpes off-peak day return costs £10.20p. Anyone who has a North Lincolnshire bus pass with a train symbol on it can travel half price.
