Heavy rain in Brigg overnight and this morning (Saturday, October 26) has affected the attendance at the monthly farmers' market, pictured above, and the general Saturday market with fewer shoppers than expected venturing out in the bad weather to browse the stalls.
Following a late morning pitch inspection, Brigg Town Football Club's home game with Retford is OFF, having been postponed due to the amount of water on the pitch.
So Retford fans due to catch the early afternoon direct train to Brigg have been saved a wasted trip.
A flood warning was in place for upper reaches of the River Ancholme this morning but NOT in Brigg.
Standing water is evident at various locations, including the Monument roundabout (pictured below). And watch how you go on some footpaths where autumn leaves are evident, creating potentially slippery conditions underfoot.
Various weather forecasts suggest the rain will ease of this afternoon with dry periods expected later in the day.
With Derby County visiting Hull City for a 3pm kick-oft, we won't be surprised if some coaches carrying fans of the Rams stop off in Brigg for food and drink en route to the game.
