BRIGG TO SCUNTHORPE BUSES VIA SCAWBY DESERVE MORE SUPPORT

Many people from Brigg make good use of the relatively new X4 express bus service linking our town with Scunthorpe.
Hornsbys - providing reliable public transport in North Lincolnshire for well over a century - initially introduced direct buses to Scunthorpe along the A18 to supplement the long-familiar route via Broughton (still coded No 4).
Later, some of the express buses were re-routed to run through the western end of Scawby Brook (near the King William IV pub) and then Scawby to rejoin the A18 at Scawby Crossroads.
Brigg Blog recently joined other passengers from Brigg at Cary Lane in boarding the peak time X4 Thursday serving, leaving at 9am.
Despite running through the hamlet and the centre of Scawby, not a single passenger was waiting there to board the bus to Scunthorpe via the Ashby Retail Park, making it something of a wasted diversion.
It was not the first time we've noted a lack of interest being shown by the good people of our neighbouring village in some of these buses.
A number of 'direct' buses to Scunthorpe have been re-routed to benefit those living in Scawby parish, including the Brook.
It seems to us that a bit more support from Scawby would be very welcome.
Have you tried the X4 service for a visit to Scunthorpe?

Bus services Monday to Friday between Brigg and Scunthorpe and vice versa are excellent.

It is on Saturdays Sundays and late at the evenings when they are quite woeful
