New bungalows in Brigg - ideal for those of more senior years - are being earmarked for a well-known site on the edge of the town.
This plan was revealed by Coun Rob Waltham - the Leader of North Lincolnshire Council - during a well-attended public 'engagement session' in the town centre's Angel Suite.
The unitary authority's Brigg & Wolds Ward representatives - Coun Waltham and Couns Carl & Nigel Sherwood - wrote to local people, inviting them down to find out about various proposals for the town.
The plan for new bungalows involves relocating the current Community Wellbeing Hub - occupying part of the original 1960s Cormac House social services and later Brigg Resource Centre site - from Horstead Avenue to the Angel complex, bringing the Hub much closer to many people wishing to access its services.
The current Hub site can then be cleared to make way for a type of housing that's much in demand locally.
Due to local government regulations, councils are no longer permitted to build new homes; this task has to be undertaken by house-building companies or other developers.
There should be space for about 10 new bungalows on the Horstead Avenue site.
There are also new plans to relocate the town's Youth Centre from Grammar School Road, involving sessions beign held in the Angel and/or the recently-built community room at the end of the changing room block at the council's Recreation Ground, off Wrawby Road.
Redevelopment of the Youth Centre site could then see a few additional town houses being erected, subject to planning.
Outlining the range of planned developments to Brigg Blog, Coun Waltham said: "The whole focus is to get the Angel used a lot more."
Some of the changes could start as early as the new year, and we expect further details to be revealed in the weeks ahead.
Couns Carl and Nigel Sherwood, plus council staff, joined Coun Waltham at the engagement session to outline the plans to members of the public.
