BRIGG END THE SEASON WITH DEFEAT BUT ALL-ROUNDER IMPRESSES

Brigg Town Cricket Club concluded the 2019 season in Lincolnshire County Cricket League Division Three with a 30-run defeat at the hands of Lindum 3rds in Lincoln on Saturday (September 14).
This result means Brigg finish fifth  -  mid-table being a decent achievement having stepped up a level this summer after gaining promotion from Division Four.
Matthew Bell scored 91 and Danny Minshall 31 on the final Saturday of the season but Town were bowled out for 188 when chasing Lincoln's impressive 218 for eight.
Mike White - making his first appearance of the season - had a fine all-round match for Brigg, taking five wickets for 55 runs and later scoring 29.

Brigg Town's 16 divisional fixtures produced seven wickets, three rain-ruined 'no results' and six defeats.
Congratulations go Hibaldstow who have secured the Division Two championship. We had a word with some of their players in Brigg's Dying Gladiator pub on Saturday night, raising a glass to the team's success.
Broughton had a mixed season. The first team finished seventh out of 10 teams in Division One. However, the 2nds clinched the Division Three championship in emphatic fashion.
