TWO TALKS ON HISTORY COMING TO BRIGG


Two talks which will appeal to those with an interest in history are coming up in Brigg.
A Tale of Two Lancs will be the topic for Flt Lt (Retired) Mike Chatterton, of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
He will be touching down at St John's Church Hall, Bigby Street, Brigg, on Wednesday, October 9 - the talk starting at 10am.
Mike will tell the audience of his experiences and those of his father who flew Lancaster bombers during WW2.
Admission costs £3.50p, including tea/coffee, and you can pay on the door.
This event is an Open Meeting of Brigg Morning WI (Women's Institute) but officials stress that men are welcome to attend.

On Saturday, October 19 CPRE Northern Lincolnshire are hosting a talk by Dr Kevin Leahy FSA, MCIfA on The Lost Kingdom - Anglo-Saxon Lindsey. It will begin at 2pm in the Buttercross, Market Place.
Tickets are £5 and refreshments will be providedDr Kevin Leahy, Principal Archaeologist at the North Lincolnshire Museum for 29 years,   excavated some major Anglo-Saxon sites in Lindsey - once independent with its own king. Archaeological and historical research has revealed this long forgotten kingdom and shown its importance.
