A new shop will be opening soon in Brigg town centre.
The Brigg Wool Shop is to occupy premises in the Market Place between the Woolpack and the Brown & Co estate agency (see picture above).
Refurbishment of the vacant shop has been ongoing for many months and the finishing touches are now being added (see picture above taken earlier this week).
Decades ago Green's cafe/restaurant was located here.
The ground floor of the building, facing the Market Place, stood empty for many years.
Then a successful planning application was lodged to establish a fast food restaurant.
However, this failed to proceed and the permission expired.
It's always heartening to see disused Brigg premises within the Conservation Area brought back into use.
The town centre will now have a wool shop next to The Woolie, as some people refer to the historic hostelry next door. We aren't at all sheepish in pointing that out!
