JAZZ MUSIC AND HOG ROAST TO MARK THE START OF SUMMER IN BRIGG

The Summer Solstice in Brigg will be marked by a special event this year at a town pub.
There will be a hog roast - provided by local company This Little Piggy Ltd - and music from the Ancholme Jazz Band, also well-known throughout  Brigg and district.
This fun event will take place on Friday, June 22 at the Yarborough Hunt, on Bridge Street, from 7pm.
Pop down and take a look as the hostelry and its customers celebrate the summer solstice.
Actually, it seems the solstice this year falls on July 21, marking the start of summer and the longest day in terms of daylight hours.
However, British weather men/women regard June 1 as the start of the warmest season of the four. Hopefully, they will be able to forecast some fine, sunny and warm weather for June 22.
Plenty of fluids, but perhaps no Druids, will be the order of the day!
The solstice event will begin the countdown to Brigg Bike Night 2018, organised from the Yarborough Hunt. Read full details here...
