FROM DAVID CARRICK, BRIGG TOWN BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP

Brigg celebrates the annual Blessing of the Pumps on Saturday 9th June, which this year will see three folk dancing teams – The Tatterfoals, Beverley Garland and Green Ginger Garland dancing around the town.
Activities on the day get under way from 10.30am with the dancers and then at 11.40am the grand parade will start from the Market Place ( where for the first time, the bandstand will be decorated), to attend the first Pump next to the bridge where there will be dancing and flowers presented to the pump.
The grand parade will then move up Wrawby Street at 12.05pm to the second pump next to The White Horse where it will be blessed, flowers given and dancing.
At 12.25pm, the three dancing groups will continue to dance around Brigg with the grad finale taking place in the Market Place at 1.15pm where all three groups will dance together  along with any members of the public who want to join in.
Please note that times may vary a little.
