BRIGG REALLY MATTERS TO KEN, BECKY AND THE TEAM OF VOLUNTEERS

FROM KEN HARRISON, CHAIR - BRIGG MATTERS MAGAZINE

Just to remind folks that the Summer edition of Brigg Matters is out.
If  you live locally, it should be dropping through your letter-box soon.
Listen out for the rattle and plop.
It's the magazine that is:

  • Non-profit making
  • Has a quarterly production run of 5,000
  • Is produced by - and distributed by - a dedicated team of volunteers
  • And costs you nowt!
N.F ADDS: There's plenty of interesting content in the latest glossy magazine from Ken and the team, including a message from new editor Becky Reynolds. You can contact them by email using briggmatters@yahoo.co.uk
There's a feature article about former long-serving Brigg fire chief Dave Riggall and a piece about a fascinating full-page drawing showing the layout of part of the town as it was in the 1930s, when rows of toilets with buckets still existed to serve some courtyard cottages!
Fiona Reid is the subject of Brigg Profile, and there's further information about the 'Almost Forgotten Airman' Flt Sgt Roy J Rogers, of 460 Squadron, who died in Brigg after bailing out from his Lancaster bomber in 1945.
Paul Hildreth - well-known teacher, geologist and former Brigg Town cricketer from our era - has joined the Brigg Matters committee.
The other members are Sandy Andrews, Danielle Li, Graham West, Katie Woodward and Sharon Worth.
Some people think Brigg Blog and Brigg Matters are one and the same, but this is not the case. We both operate independently. Brigg Blog can take no credit for this fine glossy publication. If Ken Harrison kindly makes some some of his picture stories available to Brigg Blog, we include a line to say he's from Brigg Matters Magazine. The  picture above is one of his.
