COUNCIL PUTS LAND AND PROPERTY SALES IN THE SHOP WINDOW IN BRIGG

One of periodic news-gathering checks made by Brigg Blog in our search for items of interest is made at the Buttercross, in the town centre.
At the side of the landmark building - opposite the Lord Nelson - is a glass case in which North Lincolnshire Council advertises vacant land and property it has for sale across the district.
Our latest look did not identify any new Brigg locations on the market but we were struck by a considerable number of 'sold subject to contract' references on land and property at various sites across Scunthorpe (examples pictured).
Assuming all, or most, of these sales go ahead, it will add up to a considerable amount of public money generated for the council's coffers or "public purse".
The land property advertised at the Buttercross has been declared surplus to requirements by the council.
Among Scunthorpe  examples 'sold subject to contract' is a site on Rowland Road/Cottage Beck Road (put on the market with a £525,000 guide price) and the former council depot site off Station Road in the steel town (guide price £650,000).
