FROM BRIGG TOWN BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP

Brigg and its wealth of independent retailers enjoyed  a busy Festive season with a number of activities taking place during December.
The Christmas window competition and a Children’s Trail,  organised by The Brigg Town Business Partnership, were a great success.
Winners of the window competition were:
Charities: 1st Lindsey Lodge Hospice Shop, 2nd Age UK, 3rd British Red Cross
Shops: 1st Essence Beauty and Holisitics 2nd O’Brien Opticians, 3rd Molly’s Flowers
Past Winners: 1st Joanna Leigh, 2nd Mason Baggott and Garton, 3rd Design Orchard
Brigg’s first Festival of Christmas Trees and Wreaths took place at St John’s Church and Church Hall between Thursday December 7th and Sunday December 10th  with 531 people visiting during the four days and a magnificent amount of £1009.66 being raised for St John’s Church.

As part of the Festival, concerts were presented by The Lyndhurst Singers and  also Folk Round ‘Ere Christmas Show. It was brought to a finish with a Town Carol Service held on the Sunday afternoon which was followed by refreshments hosted by Town Mayor Cllr Sharon Riggall served in The Angel Suite.
The Tree of Light which was again situated in Chapel Court from late November until  January 6th was  well supported with £1750 being raised which was divided equally between the Carers’ Support Centre in Brigg who touch the lives of many local individuals and families during difficult times, and to the Congenital Myotonic Dystrophy Fight – a charity run by Rosa in Brigg, which helps children suffering from a serious muscle-wasting condition and supports local families.
The organisers of all these events would like to thank all the businesses, organisations and individuals who were involved with them and supported them to make them the great success that they all were.
As we move towards the Spring the Brigg Town Business Partnership continues to work with businesses in the town to promote what the bustling market town has to offer, and
with 2 hours free car parking Monday to Friday and Free all day on Saturdays it makes your visit even more enjoyable.
The Brigg Pump Blessing is currently being organised for 2018 and will take place in either May or June – date to be confirmed.
