Scores are now to hand for the weekend's opening matches in the Challenge Trophy cricket competition involving Brigg Town, Broughton and Hibaldstow. Brigg lost but our other local sides both won on Saturday.
NORTH EAST GROUP
BARTON TOWN v BRIGG TOWN: Barton 166 for 7, Brigg 128 all out.
GRIMSBY TOWN v BROUGHTON: Grimsby Town 133 all out (R Brice 34, E Drinkall 30, S Clixby 4 for 33, N Crawford 2 for 0), Broughton : 134 for 8 (Stone 35, Lumby 3 for 27).
NORTH WEST GROUP
ALKBOROUGH v HIBALDSTOW: Hibaldstow 192 all out, Alkborough 117 all out.
There are two other groups not involving teams from the Brigg area. More games in the four sections will follow this Saturday (August 8) and throughout the month.
