FOLK FROM BRIGG AREA CAN ENJOY TWO CHRISTMAS MARKETS

We know that many people living in the villages around Brigg will be travelling to our town on Friday, December 2 to see the official switch-on of the festive illuminations, visit the stalls at Brigg District Lions' Christmas Fair and use the shops staying open late until 9pm.
Lincoln Christmas Market will be operating on the same day, but also on Thursday, December 1, Saturday, December 3 and Sunday, December 4. 
So it's possible to visit both the Brigg and Lincoln events. 
East Midlands Trains, whose services call at Barnetby, tells us it will be providing more trains and additional carriages to get passengers to the Lincoln Christmas Market.

East Midlands Trains will provide more than 25,000 extra seats to help customers enjoy Lincoln’s world famous Christmas Market this December.
The Market takes place between the 1st and 4th December and attracts thousands of visitors to the medieval square and city centre.
In addition to the extra seats and services throughout the weekend, East Midlands Trains is also extending existing services to Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham to allow even more people to enjoy the festivities.
Rob Mercer, Area Station Manager for East Midlands Trains, said: “Lincoln Christmas Market is one of the most popular events anywhere on our network and we are delighted to help bring thousands of visitors from across the country and beyond to the city over the weekend.
“We are providing thousands of extra seats to make it as easy as possible for visitors to enjoy historic medieval square and city centre of Lincoln. We’ll also have extra staff on hand to help customers at many stations.
“This is one of our favourite events and we hope customers will take the opportunity to travel with East Midlands Trains and have a fantastic day out.”
Customers are strongly advised to use the additional special services for travelling to and from the Christmas market and book tickets in advance to avoid queues on the day. A queuing system will be in place at key stations and customers are therefore advised to arrive in plenty of time to catch their train.
