Not long ago we observed two workers in hi-vis vests working at the lights on the A18 which control the junction of Barnard Avenue, Old Courts Road and Wesley Road.
A couple of days later we were driving out of Old Courts Road, from the town's main car park, and expected the light sequence to allow the usual three, or perhaps four, cars time to turn right and head towards the Monument.
However, we were pleasantly surprised to get the green light, despite eight other queuing vehicles infront of us managing to get clear of Old Courts Road.
We'd be interested to know whether any other drivers exiting Old Courts Road and turning right have noticed an improvement in waiting time?
Last time the issue of traffic light controls was raised during a Brigg Town Council meeting, one of the North Lincolnshire Council members present suggested that officers might be asked to take another look at traffic flows.

The lights are a blinking nuisance, Nige....!
All they seem to do is stop traffic at odd times to let a couple of cars out from Old Courts/Wesley Rd...at busy times all the cars bunch up at the junction 'cos the traffic lights at Cary Lane have opted to go red.
The traffic lights were integral to the construction of the Barnard Ave/Wrawby St by-pass...therefore, no-one has really questioned whether they're actually needed....indeed, we don't know what the situation would be like without the lights.
To me they have added complications to the traffic flow - KISS - Keep it Simple,Stupid.
Instead of some computerised traffic lights deciding when to allow traffic to flow, allow drivers to use their commonsense by redesignating the junctions to basic Give Way intersections.
