Residents are invited to register free to use the brand new Call Connect mini bus that will connect people and places in the Barton, Burton and Winterton wards – on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 June 2016.
People can register at the following locations:
Wednesday 15 June
- Winterton Market Place – 9am to 11am
- Appleby Village Hall – 11.30am to 1.30pm
- Burton upon Stather (Sheffield Arms car park) – 2pm to 3.30pm
Thursday 16 June
- Barton Market Place – 9.30am to 11am
The bus will also be stopping at various villages on Thursday 16 June, including Whitton, Alkborough, West Halton, Coleby, Thealby, Normanby and Flixborough.
The service will start Monday 20 June 2016. The way it works is simple. You can register at one of the sessions or online at www.northlincs.gov.uk/callconnect
Once you’ve done this, you can use the bus to travel to a whole range of great locations. You can book by telephone or online on the day you wish to travel or up to seven days in advance.
The beauty of this new flexible service is that there is no set route and no set times like a normal bus service. Anyone can use the bus – it operates between 7am and 7pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 6pm Saturdays.
There is no minimum number of users; so long as you have booked, the bus will pick you up!
Concessionary fare passes are accepted on the Call Connect buses.
The Government has provided £350,000 to deliver Call Connect and is part of a wider funding package to improve transport across North Lincolnshire.
Leaflets giving full details about the service will be available at the roadshow.
Coun Ralph Ogg, lead member for highways at North Lincolnshire Council, said: “Unlike normal buses, this new minibus will pick you up at a time to suit you. This innovative approach is brand new for the Barton, Burton and Winterton wards and will greatly improve public transport for many. The bus will connect to other buses and trains to other destinations and will provide a lifeline for many.”
NF adds: Brigg area people who have yet to try Call Connect might find it quite useful. Use the above link to register.

I assume that Senior Cit's Bus Passes are accepted?
However, one caveat in scheme indicates that such passes are only valid after 9am...
What happens if I'm an OAP wanting to get on the bus at 8am to visit Brigg's market?
Perhaps it needs more clarification on such.....
Shame the government are not so forth coming to put money forward for a " connect " railway service, maybe we should re brand the Brigg line
I've been able to answer my own question...
North Lincs Bus Passes - use any time..
