REPORT AND PICTURE BY KEN HARRISON
Mike has recently taken the tenancy, coming up from Shepton Mallet in Somerset - 'Down where the zider apples grow,' as the saying goes.
Mike has acted as a steward at the Glastonbury Festival over the years.
He may be a newcomer, although he appears to be a quick learner.
"I didn't hear about the recent car rally in the Market Place until a day, or so, before it happened - but it gave me an opportunity to open the pub early on that day," he said.
Yes, Mike, while there are many worthwhile events in about Brigg, there does seem to be a wide and an enduring problem of advertising and promoting such events to the townfolk and its potential visitors.
The powers that are, please take note - there must be a solution to improving the promotion of Brigg and district's diary of events.
It'll be a win-win situation for all.

try brigg is best fb page
Pete...very few folk access Brigg is Best....similarly, visitors would be very unlikely to know of the site's existence.
What is required is some sort of electronic screen in the Market Place promoting forthcoming events...

...or a Sandwich Man...or a Town Cryer
..some folks know something is happening, but need reminding about date and time...others just need to be told that something's happening...we rely too much on word of mouth and window posters...web sites are ok for some..but an In Yer Face electronic board will be hard to miss...
