BRIGG PLANNING APPLICATION TURNED DOWN

An application seeking planning permission for new fencing in Brigg was refused by North Lincolnshire Council’s planning committee during its monthly meeting held at Scunthorpe Civic Centre.
Permission was sought to remove an existing hedge running along Bigby High Road and replace it with a concrete post and timber-boarded fence near No 49.
The council’s reason for refusal was: “The proposal would have an adverse effect on the street scene and result in an unacceptable loss of natural habitat.”
Brigg Town Council had objected to the granting of permission.  No comments or objections were received from neighbouring properties.
The committee voted 5-4 to refuse the application.
Anyone refused permission by a local authority has the right to lodge a planning appeal with the Government, if they so wish.
