BRIGG BUSINESS FAMILY SIGNS OFF AND THANKS LOYAL CUSTOMERS

The family behind Barnard Butchers, on Bridge Street, Brigg, have signed off after 56 years’ trading.
In their own words they have decided to hang up their aprons and cleavers.
After all those years spent trading as Barnard Butchers and RH Barnard, they have thanked loyal customers for support and custom down the decades.
Their last day in the shop was on Saturday.
Many Brigg folk expressed their thanks in person for highly valued and quality service and wished them well.
Brigg Town Mayor, Coun Ann Eardley, who called in, said they would be missed.
Frank acquired the business from his father, Rueben Barnard - one-time chairman of  Brigg Urban District Council, whose service to the community is recognised in the naming of Barnard Avenue.
Frank and Julia said the shop, which has spanned three generations in the family, would continue to trade, under different management.
It will now operate at Barnard Butchers Ltd.
Frank, Julia, Donna and Rueben displayed a ‘big thank-you’ notice in the shop (pictured below).
Brigg Blog’s thanks go to Ken Harrison for the picture and details. Our family generally visits the shop on Saturdays but didn’t on this particularly occasion and so missed the chance to pass on our own thanks and best wishes for the future. 
In a nice touch on Saturday, Spelman Family Butchers took to social media to pass on their best wishes, describing the Barnards as "a true cornerstone of  the Brigg High Street."
Spelman's added: "We've helped each other out over the years (when needed) and for that we are truly thankful and grateful."
