Not long to go now until the 200th anniversary of the landmark Buttercross building in Brigg town centre.
It was completed in 1817 and is now owned and operated by North Lincolnshire Council.
The Elwes family was heavily involved in creating the Buttecross, which later became the HQ of Brigg Urban District Council.
Made a listed building in 1952, today it houses the Tourist Information Centre on the ground floor and has a lavish function suite upstairs.
We are sure there will be suitable celebrations next year to mark the 200th anniversary.
