A few days ago we watched a motorist drive the entire length of Queen Street THE WRONG WAY.
This has been a one-way street for years, as most Brigg Blog followers will be well aware.
The driver had parked alongside the old Post Office, on the opposite side of the road to the Nisa Local shop.
It was a head-turning moment as we watched him drive off. There were no other cars on the move along Queen Street. But what if one had been coming round the corner near the China Garden takeaway?
Presumably he must have negotiated another “blind” corner near Wallhead’s shop and gone along Queen Street before re-joining Bigby Street, where two-way traffic is permitted.
We can only remember seeing the Queen Street one-way restricted flouted on a couple of other occasions in recent years.
One incident involved watching a driver pass the zebra crossing on Bigby Street and then turn right into Queen Street – past the no entry signs.
All drivers should be thinking ahead when proceeding along Wrawby Street and preparing to turn the corner near the China Garden.
There just might be a car coming the wrong way down Queen Street.
